She's got it down now!

Well, now that Emy learned to roll over, she won't stop! Initially, when she was less than 2 months old, she had learned how to roll over from her tummy to her back. However, she has since forgotten that. So now she rolls over from her back to tummy, and then gets stuck! Chad and I have had to resort to putting 2 rolled-up towels on either side of her just so she won't roll over! It seems that she just cannot get enough of her new skill. It won't be long until Chad and I will be chasing her around the house- which is really sad to think about. :( She is growing up so fast- can't it slow down a little!?
Well, at least she likes being on her tummy!

We are heading to Lisbon, North Dakota (Chad's hometown) this weekend to get Emy baptized!  Her great-grammie crocheted an absolutely beautiful baptism dress and we are so excited for her to wear it. She fits in it almost perfectly- I guess it was meant to be! Emy's sponsors, Jess and Dave, will be there, as well as my parents and my sister, and Chad's family. It will be really nice that Chad's parents get to see Emy again- they haven't seen her since Christmas!

More proof that Emy is growing up fast!

Today was a big day in the Stroh household! Emily finally rolled over from her back to her tummy! This development opens a whole lotta new doors for her! :) She finally figured out that although her arm gets in the way, there is a way to work around that! Unfortunately, Chad wasn't able to see it, and she wouldn't do it for the rest of the night. I am sure that he will get many more options to see it, though.
My mom is coming into town tomorrow, and Chad and I will finally get to go on our Valentine's Day date!  Every year for V-Day, we treat ourselves to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, so we're going to make the trek to Detroit while my mom babysits little girl.
Emy has been trying more and more solid foods lately. The first food we tried (besides the boring rice cereal) was green beans. After the first bite, she looked at me offended that I could put something so disgusting in her mouth. However, she loves bananas and carrots, and is also a fan of applesauce. It is fun starting to broaden her horizons when it comes to foods. I love seeing her reactions to all of the different tastes! I love feeding her baby food because we don't have to feed her so often, and, quite frankly, it is nice not having to burp her!  She makes quite the mess- even with a bib, and wants to take over control of the spoon!  I have a fantastic video of Chad feeding Emily bananas that I will upload soon.
Her first manipulation therapy appointment went very well. He gave me some massages to do with her every day to help with her flat head, and will check up with us in a couple of weeks.

Playtime with daddy and Torque!
Feeling daddy's face
Oh yeah...she found her toes...and they go straight in her mouth during changing time now!

For 26 Acts:
11. In honor of James, I carried in groceries for a disabled lady that lives in the apartment building next to me. Unfortunately, she didn't seem that appreciative. She seemed very proud of the fact that she can do things on her own, and therefore she was acting like I was a bother. I still wanted to count it because I did save her a lot of time.

12. In honor of Grace, I made a donation to Good Will.

Torque and Emy

It is no secret in this family that Torque loves his dad. :) When Chad is home, we all know that Torque is going to constantly be following his dad. Last night, however, was different. After I had put Emily down for the night and was doing the dishes and Chad was watching TV, I noticed that Torque was not by Chad.  I asked Chad where Torque was, and as we looked around the room, he was nowhere to be seen. As I began to look for him, I checked on Emily in her room. And in her room was Torque:

He had been watching her sleep! It was the sweetest thing I had ever seen! Torque seems to be taking his role as "protector" quite seriously. On the flip side, Emy is beginning to be quite curious about Torque. She watches him and smiles at him. I think that in a few years, they will be great friends.
In other news, Emy has been trying SO hard to roll over from her back to her tummy. She is sooo close, it is just her arm getting in the way. Every day, Chad and I think "today is the day that she rolls over!" But it hasn't happened yet. The other night, when I checked on her, I found her sleeping like this:

She has been sleeping like this more and more since then! How adorable! Its like she is trying to roll over, then gives up and falls asleep.
She loves her exersaucer:

Although she is not quite tall enough to enjoy the jumping portion of it:

She enjoys looking at herself in the mirror:

And snuggling in blankets:

Also, tomorrow we start manipulation therapy for her head. Her head is only in the 5th percentile for size (she started out at around the 30th percentile), and the dr was concerned. We are meeting with a specialty dr to see what we need to do about it.

The extremes of Emy!

I think this pretty much sums up Emy's extremes. The first picture is when I took her bottle away- she was clearly not happy. I am such a mean mom! I almost felt bad taking the picture, but it was just so darn cute! The second is her mood most of the day- happy-go-lucky!

More 26 Acts...

The last 2 acts for kindness that I completed were especially close to my heart.

9. In honor of Jesse, I gave blood. Not only did I give blood for Jesse, but also for my cousin George, who has been in the hospital since September and has needed 120 units of blood since then.

10. In honor of Chase, I donated hats for preemies to the mother/baby center at Sparrow Hospital. This was also special since they were my Grandma Arlene's hats that she knit before she passed away. The nurses were very honored to have them.

In regards to Emily, she had her 4-month appointment and pretty much everything looked good. She was in the 25th percentile for height and weight. She only had to do 2 shots this time, so it was a little bit easier on her. Here is a pic of her post-shots:

Also, her new favorite thing to do is taking "selfies".  :)  She thinks that my phone is hers now, and I turn the camera around so she sees herself on the screen. What is even better is that she presses the screen to take pics of herself! As you can see, she is extremely proud!
