Our Frustrating Wedding Weekend

This past weekend, we attended Chad's cousin Amanda's wedding in Fargo. Maybe I was naive, but going to a wedding with a baby is SO MUCH HARDER than I thought it would be! The first problem was getting there. While it could have taken about 6 hours to get there, it took us 8 strictly because of stupid road construction. They actually had part of 94 closed near downtown which caused an hour delay. They narrowed 4 lanes down to 1, and then sent us in the complete opposite direction. I am still fuming as to how MnDoT thinks they can do that!! After the frustrating trip, we made it in time for pictures. I managed to get all 3 of us to match- even Chad went along with it! The ceremony was gorgeous. The weather was perfect, and of course, Amanda was stunning!! Unfortunately, Emily got antsy pretty quick so I had to take her inside and let her crawl around. Emily got a little nap on the way over to the hotel, where the reception was held. Emily spit up ALL OVER Chad, and he had to run over to Sears to buy a new shirt. Once we got to the hotel, she spit up all over herself, and then on me. She was certainly out of her element, which resulted in her and I wearing different outfits to the reception. The reception was beautiful!:
When the bride and the groom were introduced, they held up a sign that said "Two less fish in the sea", which was fitting since they are avid fisherman!:
We had dinner, we danced, and by 10pm, Emily was exhausted! I brought her up to our room, where she promptly had a 2nd wind! I think it was all the excitement of the day that made her NOT want to sleep.
Also, she had gotten a glowstick from Auntie Jess and she would NOT let it go! I literally had to pry it from her hands so she could go to sleep. She woke up 3 times during the night (NOT typical at all) and then woke up an hour early (also not typical), so I was exhausted. It was really nice seeing Chad's family, but it was such a relief to get home again!

Vacation/Fathers Day

Summer is in full-swing and we are BUSY!! I can't believe that my baby is 9 months old! She seems to get busier each and every day. Bear with me on this post- I have a lot of pictures to share!!!
We went on vacation last week to Chad's parent's cabin. The weather was sub-par, but we made the best of it and still had a great time.  Torque enjoyed being outside the whole time (bad weather and all), and Emily had a great time! She soon found out that the floors were a bit less forgiving than the ones at home. Chad's parents joined us, and my parent's stayed at a campground nearby. Unfortunately, it was too cold for Emily to swim in the water, but she did get to go on her first boat ride (with a life jacket circa 1980!)  Here are some pictures from our vacation:

Of course, when we got back from vacation, the weather was beautiful!!! We decided to go out and buy Emy a kiddy-pool. She LOVED it!!! We will be enrolling her in swimming lessons as soon as things settle down.
For fathers day, Chad worked for a while in the morning, but then had the rest of the day off. It was a beautiful day! I told Chad we could do whatever he wanted for dinner, and he wanted to grill. We had burgers and FANTASTIC pork chops! Me and Emily got him a new much-needed wallet, which he loved. It was overall a great day. I am lucky to have such a wonderful husband- he is such a great father. She lights up every time he comes home from work. :)

We upgraded Emily to a baby bathtub (she was using one in which she laid back), so now she can have fun in the tub! She has some tubby toys that she enjoys!
Lastly, Chad and I couldn't decide what to have for dinner the other night, so we decided to try baby.
Lucky for her, she didn't quite fit in the pot, so we had to settle for something else. ;)

That's all, folks! Hope you all continue to have a great summer!
