April showers...bring May flowers...I hope?

I'd like to start by complaining about the crappy weather. However, I have recently discovered that I really don't have anything to complain about, since it has been snowing in Minnesota since yesterday. The rain really doesn't seem so bad after all! :/
Emily and I are officially living out of a box. My mom came last weekend and we packed everything. After she left, I realized that I had left out 4 outfits for Emily with 2 weeks to go. Obviously, I had to unpack a few things! It is week 2 of Chad being in Eau Claire. He is liking his job, and he said he has a lot to learn! I consider that a good thing because he always likes a challenge. Other good news is that we found a place to live! It was extremely difficult finding what we wanted in Eau Claire. We were getting nervous that we wouldn't find a place in time. It is a townhouse and it has a 2-car garage! We figure we could live there until we feel that we're ready to buy a house.
Emily went to the pool for the first time- and she LOVED it!! I wish that I had taken pictures- she is such a waterbaby! She splashed around and kicked her feet- and best of all, she loved to lounge in her new pool float! I have a picture of her demonstrating her technique on dry land here:
How adorable is that! :)

Here is Emily with Grandma Mary. I can't tell who was happier this weekend: Grandma seeing her sweet Grandchild, or Emily, who I have determined to be the happiest baby on Earth!

This is a new trend: Emily has been falling asleep while in her Johnny Jump-Up! She just goes so crazy in it, and then all of the sudden crashes!! It has happened twice in the past 2 days. I guess that during the day, I have been keeping her so busy that she just crashes! She has been falling asleep at 7:30 or 8 and she always sleeps until 7am! Not bad.

Also: her new favorite toy. A 29-cent Easter egg that I gave her at Easter. Are you kidding me!? I guess she taught me that it's the simple things in life. She has been playing with this egg for about a week now non-stop.

Update on moving

Happy Sunday from Michigan! Chad and I are preparing for our move! Chad drove to Eau Claire this morning, where he will start his new position tomorrow. Meanwhile, Emily, Torque and I are here in Michigan packing up the fort. It is a bit of a slower process with a baby! Luckily, we have 3 weeks to pack and I will have a lot of help. It will be very strange to be here without Chad- but hopefully the time will pass quickly. I do not mean this in a bad way, but we are sooo done with Michigan!!
Emily is well on her way to start crawling. She gets up on all fours and rocks. I am terrified!! I was really hoping that we could move into our new place and be settled before she started to crawl, but I am afraid it will happen sooner than that! She is certainly a woman on a mission! Here is her on all fours:
Looks like I will need to be more careful from now on!! No more laying her on our bed for naps and leaving her be. I also have an awful feeling that she's going to start crawling and Chad won't be here to see it. It is sad, but that is life I suppose.
Emily has been helping Chad look for places to live. It has been hard finding a place that is renting now that allows dogs and has all the features we are looking for. Fortunately, we did find a place that looks nice from the outside. Chad is going to check it out tomorrow, and as long as it isn't a total dump inside, we are going to take it.
Emily is certainly helping dad look for places to live! (Translation: she wants to eat the newsletter!)

I end this post on a sad note. Chad's Grandpa Lars passed away yesterday after a battle with cancer. He was an extremely kind-hearted and gentle man and it was a privilege to get to know him. I am so happy that he was able to meet Emily a couple of times. Emily and I will not be able to make the funeral, but we will be there in spirit. We love you, Grandpa Lars!
